Captain America ShieldCaptain America has used two different shields over the years.His first shield was triangular with stars on the top with vertical stripes below: 
Shortly after Captain America first emerged with this shield another comic book publisher complained that it looked too similar to the uniform worn by The Shield (another superhero similar to Captain America). So Captain America changed to his now popular circular disc shield:

Captain America's shield is indestructible. It was accidentally created in a lab experiment. Due to the circumstances the shield has unique properties that have not been able to be duplicated. Trivia: the shield makes cameo appearances in Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Can you find them? |
